Pain in Prasarita Padottanasana Can't Post

About 1 year ago, I started to experience an intense sharp pain in both of my inner thighs in Prasarita Padottanasana and Upavistha Konasana.

Despite resting and avoiding these poses for a while, there has been no improvement.

Recently I also have a nagging pain in my left thigh that comes and goes thoughout the day.

Any ideas?

Gee that sounds bothersome. I find with prasarita padottanasana I experience pain in my right ankle due to the inner heel rolling to the outer. By pulling up the thighs and using a bit of height for my hands the pain subsides. I know your problem is different but by looking at your other standing poses may give some insight into why this is happening. I found that my inner right ankle in trikonasana, parsva konasana, virabhadrasana I, II and III etc also rolls from the inner heel to the outer. Do you feel the pain in uttanasana, or is it when the feet are wide apart. Of course its always best to consult an instructor to see how the pain can be alleviated.
Good luck

Thanks for your advice. The pain does not occur in uttanasana, only in "wide leg" forward bends.

I've read that a lot of people have ankle pain in Prasarita Padottanasana, but I can't seem to find anyone with my symptoms!

Thanks again
