finding your sitting bones Can't Post

Does anyone have any good tips on how to explain/show a beginning student where their sitting bones are?

Suggestion: Sit on a cushionless chair or bench. Put both feet flat on the floor. Sit up straight. Slowly scoot your rear-end forward, toward the edge of the chair. When you feel the hard part of your rear-end touching the seat of the chair, you're feeling your sit-bones.

Thanks for your reply. I forgot to say, I have actually tried this, and it *did* work well for *most* people, but not for everyone. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd love to hear them as well.

Another thing I have tried is simply having students sit on their hands. Then they can feel the bones with their hands! This seems to work pretty well.

Iyengar suggests - After sitting with legs straight, move the flesh underneath both buttocks sideways with your hands so one can sit directly on the stting bones.
