Wearing leather/vegetarianism Can't Post

I have been practicing yoga for three years and in the last six months have gradually migrated to a full vegetarian diet.

Following on from the recent discussion on vegetarianism and the philosophy of ahimsa non-violence).I have started considering non-leather alternatives to footwear and belts. It is a source of strong internal discussion for me and not something I would have considered myself doing 5 years ago.

I was interested in other yogins views on wearing leather.

Vegan Shoes [In reply to] Can't Post

I am also looking for vegan shoes and have been looking on the net for mail order companies that design reasonably OK vegan shoes.

Since I have been looking though I have also noticed a little more non leather in the high street stores. Most outdoor shops do non leather sandals and I have noticed cotton or hemp shoes/boots are now available on the net.

If anybody reading this knows any links to nicely designed comfortable vegan shoes could you let me know, that would be great as I havent found any yet.

pleasant wearing

Re: Vegan Shoes [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi,

I'm don't wear vegan shoes; I actually bought a new pair of leather shoes the other day... But anyway, I just stumbled upon this site while I was searching for info on shoe polish and I remembered somebody asking about vegan shoes:

http://www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk

I hope this helps :-) All the best with your shoe searching, Nadia.
