Rope No 1, 2 and 3 Can't Post

In some asana sequences it is only mentioned: Do Rope No. 1, 2 and 3. Are these certain asanas on the rope? Does anybody know?

Thank you! Rita

hi Rita :)
asanas with ropes is called "yoga kurunta" (or korunta i am not 100% sure) : kurunta (or korunta?) is a puppet that is suspended by strings ; the idea is to move the body suspended by ropes like if you were a puppet; it is not for the beguinner and is a powerful way to "open" the shoulders, the chest, improve your backbends ... 1,2 and 3 are the three first sequences ; in the iyengar studios, you have ropes on the wall for (almost) each practitionner. don't try this alone Crazy
take care.

Thank you, Pascal for your answer.

I have got a rope wall at home and I sometimes practice with it after Geeta's book "Yoga: A gem for women". The reason I asked the question was that in the book variation no. 1 is Bhujangasana (with feets away from the wall) and in "Props & Ailments" by Bobby Clennell the First rope is Bhujangasana & Urdhva-Mukha-Paschimottanasana I (which is variation no. 2 in Geeta's book). So I am still not absolutely clear which is rope 1 and which is rope 2 ;-)). In "Props & Ailments" the Second Rope is Purvottanasana which is variation 3 in Geeta's book. So I think I will stick with Geeta's book in terms of practice ;-)). So thanks again for the advice because only after I have read your post I looked it up once again.
