Breathlessness in Halasana Can't Post

[:)]
Hi
I have been practising yoga since a year, almost on a daily basis.
I was able to do Halasana for about 3 minutes at a stretch, but from the time I included, "Navasana", and "Ardha Navasana", in my schedule I am unable to keep up the "Halasana" pose due to breathlessness. The "Halasana" pose with the help of a stool to rest my feet on is more comfortable. What is the problem?

Hiya. One thing I have noticed about yoga is that your body is always changing and a pose is never done the same way twice. Sometimes I go through moments where a pose becomes amazingly effortless and at others it becomes quite difficult.
Navasana and Ardha Navasana use the abdominals as you have probably noticed and so does halasana to get the extension throughout the back. Sounds like your chest is collapsing and your hips are coming forward towards your shoulders. Maybe you need to work the legs more in halasana, keeping them open at the knees with the hips drawing back, while supporting your back more with your hands. The upper arms should be grounded on the blankets. The spine should be lengthened neither concave or convex. Practising with a chair is good if you are unable to maintain the 'lift' in the posture.
Namaste
