There is no set time for going from beginner to teacher. There are regulations for getting certified to teach in the Iyengar method, and meeting those regulations takes at least a year. But it is probably not realistic to expect even Superman to go from beginner to certification in one year.
Tell your friendliest Iyengar teacher what you would like to do, and ask for the teacher's advice.
